Casa Cuseni, Museum of Fine Arts

The Official Museum of the City of Taormina

Casa Cuseni is a villa located in Taormina, Sicily, Italy. It was built in 1906 for British painter Edward James, who used it as a summer residence. Over the years, the villa has been inhabited by many famous artists and writers, including D.H. Lawrence, who wrote the novel “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” during his stay.

The villa was designed in the Liberty style, with Sicilian ceramic decorations and mosaics. It is surrounded by a tropical garden with panoramic views of the Ionian coast.

Over the years, Casa Cuseni has also been used as a film set for various films and television shows.

An interesting fact is that the villa was restored in 1995 by the family of one of its early owners, Countess Cataldo. It is now open to the public for guided tours, offering a unique opportunity to see the architecture and art of the villa up close, as well as appreciate the panoramic views of the coast.

The Museum is open all year round, every day including holidays, with mandatory booking.
