The church of San Pancrazio in Taormina is a historic building located in the upper part of the Sicilian city. Built in the 6th century, the church is an example of Byzantine architecture with Norman influences. Its panoramic location offers a spectacular view of the Naxos Bay and the Etna volcano.

The church was originally built as a place of worship for Roman soldiers and later used as a place of worship by the Normans. Over the centuries, the church has undergone numerous changes and renovations, but still retains many of its original elements such as the Byzantine mosaics and the Norman-style dome.

In addition, the church of San Pancrazio is one of the few surviving Byzantine churches in Sicily and offers a unique overview of the island’s history and architecture.
